The Town of Rochester was founded in 1679 and later
incorporated in 1686 and is located in Plymouth County. Once known as
Sippican the town was renamed Rochester after Rochester England which
was where some of the settlers came from.

visitors should visit the Country Fair for nonstop fun which includes
arts and crafts and food as well as entertainment and much more. All the
fun starts during the month of August. Also visit the Rochester Golf
Club which recently expanded to an 18 hole golf course.
